A baby born out of wedlock was considered a great scandal during the early days, it really brought a dilemma in this young lady's life. However, this young lady was brave enough to face all the consequences and bore the child without the father. Single parenthood was a social problem, but fate played a role here, her ex suitor proved to be a man of integrity, he was ready to accept her and her child unconditionally. How deep the love must be!

My favorite Fang Yin's contemporary movie. Think it deserved a 4 star (3 1/2 a little miserly!)

I have this disc and no doubt, it's a movie worth repeated viewings. In fact, I think I saw this movie in the cinema during my teenage years. That orange-striped dress of Fan Yin was a popular demand then!

The script is indeed very good, I must admit. The towering performances of the trio showed their talents to better advantage, esp that of Fang Yin.

Chiao Chuan besides being an excellent actor, also has handsome and magnetic on-screen presence which directors never fail to exploit.

Another actress in this movie has also inspired me and she is Chang Yen Yen who portrayed Fang Yin's mother. A typical caring and forever worrying mum.

This movie, though melodramatic but moving and is worth watching, even today.
