Just finished viewing another lauded masterpiece of Chang Cheh: "The Boxer From Shantung". It's amazing poverty, crime, and utter disregard for human life are inevitable wherever drugs and rank opportunism co-exist, as they are seen in this movie.
Chan Kuan Tai's kung fu's movements are impressive and well choreographed. Good to see David as the righteous gang boss despite his limited role. He has an aura of charisma as manifested by his cuteness, mysterious and cheeky grin and fearless manner. In short, he's magnetically cool.........!
One disappointment is the traditional tragic deaths of the heroes created by Chang Cheh. Why??
