88 SB SWORDSPLAY '70s : ' The Shadow Whip '
' The Shadow Whip '
Cast : Cheng Pei-pei, Yue Hua
Director : Lo Wei
Synopsis
A legendary fighter named “The Shadow Whip” was implicated in multiple murders and a robbery. Since then, he was in hot pursuit by both bandits and heroes. For fifteen years, he lived in seclusion and no one knew about his hideout until one day a whip-wielding lady appeared. While fighting a group of villains, she had demonstrated her whip-lashing skills. That aroused the suspicions of both good and evil knights to believe that she was somehow related to “The Shadow Whip” and started to trail the lady whip wielder …
A well-made action flicks loaded with traditional swordplay fights and grand snowy locales. The “twist-and-turn” plot coupled with the stars’ charisma especially Cheng Pei Pei who had convincingly dished out more excitement with her long killer whip, made this a memorable wu xia classic.

Chen Pei Pei with the whip as a weapon reminds me of Indiana Jones, but hers was a weapon of destruction. This time Pei Pei used a whip instead of a sword. Lee Khun was her man servant, he made a few funny scenes to let the audience have a good laugh. It's a a very special wu xia film, because the heroine used a whip as her weapon.
Well said Diane, I just love the way Cheng Pei Pei cracks the deadly whip ... swoosh ! zoom ! up to the roof ... cracccck ! hehe...
