82 SB MUSICAL : ' Double Bliss '
' Double Bliss '
Cast : Ching Li, Chin Feng
Director : Chin Chien
Synopsis
A simple story about two love birds Ching Li and Chin Feng who returned home from abroad to get wed, but never did they expect their marriage plan was at a rock for both their fathers were at logger-heads…
The key characters in the movie are Wei Peng Ou and Liang Hsing Po who acted as the “ fathers” of the couple. Though both are renowned comedians in that era, somehow they just couldn’t make me laugh out loud… As for the songs, only 5 ~ 6 popular ‘60s tunes are heard in this musical slapstick …

This is a modern "Romeo & Juliet" comedy show. The lovers' fathers were opponents over the years, their petty quarrels didn't hinder the children from loving each other. I love the part when parents of the bride were in bad terms and had separate bedrooms! Kao Pao Shu showed off her talent not only in acting but also in singing! It's an entertaining comedy!
"Double Bliss" is indeed hilarious! The cast includes Chin Li, Chin Feng, Gao Bao Shu, Ow Yang Sa Fei and the famous Cantonese veteran actor, Liang Sin Poh.
The screenplay is so uproarious and entertaining! The script is intermingled with some lovely melodious hits of 70s and my mind seems totally taken up with reminiscence of my teenage years.
It is about a young couple(Ching Li and Chin Feng),who after graduated from UK musical college, returns to their homeland, Hong Kong. She's a rich daughter of Liang Sin Poh and he's a poor son of actor Wei Ping-ou. They intend to tell their parents about their nuptials but unfortunately aren't given the opportunity to speak as their parents are too busy with their bickering.
It seems the young couple's fathers are also at loggerheads, thus their marriage uncertainty is now compounded by fear.
To sum it up, it's an excellent comedy for those who wish to unwind their system after a hard day's work! I couldn't stop smiling and laughing throughout the movie.
