I have to say that I find Chang Yi a "lame duck" here, he didn't have many fight scenes in this movie, it was Essie who stole the show. Shen Yi was so love struck with the wrong man and confused that she didn't know what to do.
Well, as the title suggests "Swordswomen Three" it's obvious that the women here have the pants

In "Swordswomen Three" the eldest sister, Shen Yi is like 'a puppet on a string'. Can't fight, neither can act! The youngest sister, Pan Yin-tze looks very juvenile and her fighting skill is sort of mediocre. Essie Lin Chia is the only one worth claim praise for her artistic range and insights, but none equal the combination of natural talent and personal charm that so endeared Cheng Pei Pei to audiences!Chang Yi, the courageous hero that scored my thumb up in Brothers Five is equally doomed in this film. What has happened to him, he appears dull and unenthusiastic!
