“The Wild Goose On The Wing” is another superb story based on the best selling books of acclaimed novelist, Qun Yiao. The whole story lines articulate well. At times, the ambient musical score becomes distracting esp. in the scenes where Brigitte Lin is mischievously trailing her prey, Chin Han.
However, there are positives like the theme song is beautifully sung by Fong Fei Fei. Also, Brigitte Lin’s acting is rock solid in her dual roles. I must say much of the success of this ‘Jackal and Hyde’ spin-off can be laid at the feet of this actress, who delivers a splendid job of the 2 characters---- one quiet and serious and the other, vivacious, witty and rebellious! Chin Han and Ma Yon Suang, on the other hand, stretched adequately to fill out their roles efficiently as loving brothers.
The plots are not underdone. In fact, right from the start, I thought I was already given each piece of the puzzle carefully held up to the camera long enough for me to note the word ‘clue’. Ah, ah, not quite that simple and straight forward as I thought…………….
All in all, an excellent script, a perfect performance and good viewing if you like a thriller for a change!
