Feared that he might not survive the tumor’s operation, Pung-ho tried to make San get closer to So-yi and accept her as his mother. San gradually accepted the guilt-ridden So-yi for he felt her love, tender and care.

Pung-ho was determined to do anything for his son. When San responded to Pung-ho’s boxing matches, the latter decided to compete again which was much to the doctor’s dismay. The doctor’s advise was to admit to hospital for immediate treatment.

Soon, it was time for Pung-ho to step into the boxiing ring. On that very day, Ha-ri saw Pung-ho’s medical record by chance. Crestfallen, she dashed to stop Pung-ho but relented when she realized his determination to win the match for his son

San who was also in the hospital, overheard their conversation. When he learned that So-yi was his mum, he was dumbfounded with surprise and started to behave strangely. He refuse to eat or talk and later, he claimed that he could not see !

Pung-ho was on tenterhooks till the doctor’s diagnosis was completed. San’s was a pyschological case and the loss of his sight was just temporarily.

When So-yi was anxious as why Ki-seok had missed her recital, she was startled to hear from Pung-ho that the latter was aware of the truth. At once she was disheartened. However, Pung-ho hinted that he was prepared to leave Ha-ri.

One day when she and Ki-seok were out for a meal , they bumped into Ha-ri and Pung-ho. When Ki-seok found out that Pung-ho was a single dad, he disapproved their relationship. Pung-ho felt humilated and insisted to stay be with Ha-ri. The situation was an awkward dispute.

Meanwhile, Pung-ho’s son fell sick and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The only authority on paediatric tumors was Ki-seok. Deeply shaken and desperate to save his son, Pung-ho approached Ki-seok and begged him for help. Finally, he sacrified his love and broke up with Ha-ri so as not to affect Ki-seok prior his surgery on his son.

The day for the operation soon arrived . Though fearful, San put up a brave front so as not to make his dad worried. Pung-ho too, swallowed hard his grievances just to encourage his son to be optimistic and fight against the brain tumor…

Pung-ho and Ha-ri ‘s second encounter was on a train. Ha-ri had misplaced some documents on the train but fortunately, Pung-ho found them and traced them to Ha-ri at the Medical University. She was speechless with joy to retrieve her lost documents.
